This large hillside needed color, texture, interest and support. The main living area of the house faces this hill so we wanted to improve the view. We started by anchoring the space with 18' long steel panels which would help shore up the hillside and double as rustic sculpture that blends into the landscape. We planted a low water perennial garden anchored by Manzanitas and Luma Apiculatas and used grasses and succulents to frame and soften the concrete patio.
